Sunday Morning Worship Services
Currently Batavia Covenant Church offers two Sunday morning services,
each of which has a distinct personality and style of worship. The
messages are the same for both services, but the styles for worship
vary from service to service.
9:00 AM Contemporary Service: In this "come as you are"
service you will see a wide mix of people—some come in jeans while
others wear suits; some are committed followers of Jesus, and some are
just checking out the "church thing." The music in this service
is led by the worship band and incorporates the best of new music and the
best of older music done in new ways. High value is placed on giving space
for people to connect with God, so everything we do in this service,
teaching, videos, music, drama, readings, and other creative elements are
done with this in mind.
10:35 AM Traditional Service: This service is designed around hymns
from our hymnal and traditional instrumentation (piano and organ regularly,
as well as strings, brass and woodwinds when available.) High value is
placed on giving space for people to connect with God, so everything we do
in this service—responsive readings, doxology, Lord's Prayer, special
music, and other creative elements—are done with this in mind.
